2010 Rolls-Royce 200 EX Concept – Ghost
The 200 EX is a concept displaying the design direction of a smaller, less expensive sedan to be named the Ghost that Rolls-Royce plans to sell in conjunction with the ostentatious Phantom. This car has a unique unibody that Rolls-Royce says is “not shared with any other vehicle.” Â Also, its all-new 6.6-liter direct injection V-12 engine will be made exclusively for Rolls-Royce by BMW. With an eight-speed automatic transmission and twin-turbos delivering nearly 600hp, the Ghost will still achieve relatively good gas mileage.
Featuring the Phantom’s signature hinged rear doors and similar interior design elements, the Ghost will also be equipped with more advanced technology features, including the latest version of BMW’s iDrive. The car is made to appeal to buyers who find the Phantom too big, as well as those who desire a sportier Rolls-Royce. Priced at $250,000 to $280,000, Rolls-Royce hopes to sell about 1200 of these vehicles a year while competing directly against the upcoming Bentley Arnage and the Aston Martin Rapide.
