Need another reason to be excited for the Frankfurt auto show in September? Well, Mini is planning to unveil a new concept that promises to be its most exciting model yet. Set to be a future production model in 2011 at the earliest, the Speedster will be the most powerful Mini ever. A direct-injected 1.6-liter 4-cylinder pumping out 177 bhp will come standard, alongside the option for a higher performance version with 208 bhp and stiffer suspension. This topless 2-seater will feature a lower, wider stance accentuated by bulging fender flares with larger wheels and tires. Expect a coupe version of the mighty Speedster also, perhaps arriving earlier than the convertible.
